University of Baguio High School Students participate in WOMENtor 2025

On March 8, 2025, the University of Baguio High School proudly participated in WOMENtor, an annual gathering dedicated to empowering young women through mentorship and leadership training. Held at the UB Cardinals Gym, this year’s event carried the inspiring theme: “Trailblazers: Celebrating Women’s Leadership.”

A total of 32 students from the University of Baguio High School, accompanied by four distinguished alumni mentors, took part in this transformative event. They joined a diverse group of male and female students from various schools in the university, engaging in discussions and activities designed to cultivate leadership skills, resilience, and confidence.

WOMENtor 2025 brought together accomplished women leaders, professionals, and advocates from different industries, all eager to share their journeys and insights. The program aimed to equip young women with the necessary mindset and skills to navigate challenges and excel in their chosen fields. Through interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, students gained valuable perspectives on leadership, career growth, and self-empowerment.

The event kicked off at 8:00 AM with an opening performance from UBBUK and inspiring keynote address from Rev. Abraham Nam, the IYF Philippine President, followed by breakout mentorship sessions where students had the opportunity to engage directly with their mentors. The presence of UB High School alumni as mentors- Ms. Janet Insas, Ms. Kiara Dorothy Melecio,Ms. Daphlyn Fag-ayan and Ms. Jenny Jose,  provided students with relatable role models who showcased the power of perseverance and ambition.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5: Gender Equality, WOMENtor 2025 reinforced the importance of empowering women and ensuring equal opportunities in leadership and professional fields. By advocating for gender equality, the event contributed to fostering a more inclusive and diverse future for young women in the Cordillera region.

By 12:30 NN, participants left the venue feeling motivated and ready to embrace their roles as future leaders. The University of Baguio High School takes pride in being part of this empowering initiative and looks forward to continuing its commitment to fostering leadership and excellence among its students.

Through programs like WOMENtor, the next generation of female leaders is being shaped—one inspiring conversation at a time.
