An Exemplary UBHS Student Earns Merit Award in the International Mathematical Olympiad 2024

Outstanding young mathematicians from all over the world compete in the International Mathematical Olympiad. In this competition, participants from all over the world are offered problems that call for critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a thorough grasp of mathematical concepts. The IMO pushes participants to extend their mathematical limits while also promoting healthy competitiveness.

Trisha Loren Rillera, a dedicated and passionate Grade 12 student at the University of Baguio High School, has showcased her exceptional skills in mathematics through her rigorous training and unwavering commitment. This remarkable young talent is poised to make significant waves in the world of mathematics. Ms. Rillera secured an impressive award in the prestigious Guangdong – Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area Mathematical Olympiad (Big Bay Bei) Final Round 2024 held in Macau, China last March 16, 2024. 

Amidst fierce competition from talented mathematicians from different nationalities and representing various countries, Loren’s exceptional performance at the IMO earned her a well-deserved “Merit Award”. Her outstanding achievement not only showcases the student’s extraordinary mathematical proficiency and expertise, but also brings honor and acknowledgment to her school and the nation, demonstrating the competitive capabilities of University of Baguio High School students on the global stage.

With this, the UB High School cannot wait for her to come home and congratulate her remarkable success internationally. Her remarkable achievement serves as a testament to the effectiveness of UB High School’s vision, mission, and objectives, as they inspire and guide students toward realizing their aspirations and reaching their full potential.
