February 23, 2025 – As the most awaited Panagbenga Festival draws near, the University of Baguio High School Boy Scouts of the Philippines (UBHS BSP) proudly joins the opening and grand parades as part of the contingents. Their participation goes beyond mere celebration, as they embody discipline, good citizenship, and community involvement, marching through Baguio’s scorching sun and chilly breeze to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to service.
Aligned with UN SDG #16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, the UBHS BSP actively engages in various city events, showcasing leadership, responsibility, and dedication to fostering a just and peaceful society. Their presence and service continuously inspire others, proving that Scouting is not just about wearing a uniform; it is about making a difference in the community.
The Panagbenga Festival, meaning “Season of Blooming,” begins in February, filling Baguio City with vibrant colors and festive energy. The UBHS BSP eagerly takes part in the celebrations, joining the parades despite early call times and long hours of preparation. As flag bearers and banner holders, they shine through the crowd with enthusiasm and smiles on their faces, embracing their duties with pride.

Through their participation and interactions, they develop a deeper understanding of the value of unity and collaboration, essential in fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society.
As the festival concludes, the Scouts carry forward the lessons learned, the bonds formed, and the pride of being part of something bigger than themselves. With unwavering dedication, they continue to inspire others, proving that the spirit of service blooms in every Scout, wherever they go.
