UBHS Partners with DSWD Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth

The University of Baguio High School (UBHS) has been fostering a meaningful partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Rehabilitation Center for the Youth (RRCY) since 2019. Located in Bayabas, Sablan, Benguet, the RRCY serves as a haven for young individuals in need of guidance and support to overcome challenges and build a brighter future.

In a recent activity, UBHS organized a visit to the RRCY, marking another milestone in their collaborative efforts. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a training and workshop on life skills for the youth clientele under the theme “Freedom and Responsibility.” The workshop aimed to empower the youth with essential life skills necessary for their personal and professional development.

The highlight of the event was the insightful presentation delivered by Mr. Peter John Opu-an, a faculty member of the UBHS. With his expertise in the field, Mr. Opu-an captivated the audience with engaging discussions and practical insights, inspiring the youth to unleash their full potential and embrace the values of freedom and responsibility.

Ms. Esther Masielle Flores, the head of the Philosophy/Psychology/Values Education Department at UBHS, spearheaded the activity, demonstrating the school’s commitment to holistic education and community engagement.

The partnership between UBHS and RRCY demonstrates the effectiveness of collaboration in supporting youth development. Together, they offer comprehensive support and guidance to empower young individuals to overcome challenges and pursue their aspirations. UBHS is committed to nurturing socially responsible individuals through initiatives like life skills workshops, fostering resilience, empathy, and accountability for a brighter future.
